Hi folks.
Sculpfun have been kind enough to send me one of their latest products to test out and boy have made some improvements.
The New Height setting feature with it's fine adjustment is just brilliant. The fact that you don't have to mess around trying to find the spacer to set the correct height makes life just that little bit easier.
The simple construction makes it so simple for anyone to put together In minutes.
I don't show it In this video but it has a tilt alarm if one end gp raised higher than the other. Personally I didn't understand the need for this but it's there.
I must say I was very impressed with this unit and how it handled some of the projects I have put it through since this video was released.
40w is a lot of power to have.
Check out the links and see what you might pick one up for.
Start creating some cool projects now, you don't need to be a computer whizz to get started it's all pretty simple and there are hundreds of free files you can download to get you started.

Superbe travail ^^ . Mais ça brunissait quoi exactement ? et le bruit du truc lol ...
Thanks very much. It is used to blow chemicals into your roof or over plants to stop pests. Yes it's very noisy 😅
Merci je comprends maintenant 😊
@@monpote5261 I'm glad. Please check out some of my other projects if you have time.
Класс!!!👍👍👍
💙
See thru paint , wtf . .... 😂😂😂😂😂😂
It comes in a paint tin, I got it from the paint shop, it smells like paint, it mixes like paint, it has to dry like paint, it cleans up like paint, I used a paint brush to put it on, I had to let it dry like paint, the instructions are the same as paint, the warnings are the same as paint. It's not paint ?
More lasers than star wars in your workshop !!
Just about, these are not the droids your looking for
Wow indeed at this , very talented !!!!
Thanks buddy much appreciated 👍
Epic restoration
Still my favorite project out of all of them buddy 👍
It must've been quite an Odyssey making this, HAL.
Lol nice one I like it 👍 thanks for watching
Excellent! This machine definitely has some power! Very cool 3D puzzle! Love the cutting boards you made your wife! Truly appreciate that you show how to construct the SF-A9 & that you share your painting techniques! Very cool! TFS!!
Thank you for checking it out. Not my usual type of project, trying to expand my viewer range. Apparently you can sell flat packs of these types of projects for good money. Did you get your self an enclosure yet ?
@@Austeration I have not gotten an enclosure yet, but it’s on the list. You’ll definitely be able to sell those flat packs! Best of luck! Happy Tuesday!
@@UpAllNightDIY Nar I don't have time for that sort of thing. Night now, enjoy your day
I would have definitely left the trim chrome
Thanks, I'm glad I did, looking at it now it would have just looked wrong if I didn't.
Those gloves look much better then the last ones ❤❤❤❤ love your work. 🇦🇺
Thanks, they came from the same batch as the last lot. Might have just been a little cleaner though.
Красиво! Жирный лайк! 👍👍👍
Thank you for watching 👍 please share with your friends
Класс!!!👏👏👏
Thank you 🌹
Great tool. Can see you getting a lot of use from it.
Thank you my friend. I got some cutting boards but no spoons just yet. I need to try this out Soon 😀
Pretty Nifty.
Thanks buddy 👍
Excellent job. If that was paraffin, you were filling it with where did you get the blue paraffin
Thanks very much Steve, it's actually Kerosene. For some reason in Australia it comes like that.
Thank you for your reply. Here in England, they used to sell a paraffin called esso Blue for lamps and heaters
@@stevethegreasemonkey that's cool, did it stink out the room like Kero does at all?
@Austeration from what I have heard about it, no it had low smell and burnt cleaner in lamps and other paraffin equipment. There was also alladin pink, unfortunately. You can't get either now
@@stevethegreasemonkey that's very interesting Thanks for the information. I might see if they have any available here
Very Cool and nicely done. My daughter actually worked creating the game War Hammer when she worked at E A Mythic a few years ago.
Thanks very much. Wow that sounds like a pretty cool job your daughter had 👍
Wow, you made your own 300 pieces puzzle. Very creative. Love the paint and effects. Well done and what a great machine 👍😉
Thanks very much my friend 👍
Thank you for sharing your cool machine. It looks high quality
I like the glue pallet, on the back of the cup ! Nice
The sand texture, I presume? Game changer
Was not expecting that WOW 😮😊
Well done 👏
@@doinsngoins Thanks Steve much appreciated as always 👍
Great video..Thats a cool machine...
Cheers Brian
Sehr schön
Thank you very much 🙂
t'as vraiment mis des rivets pop sur une lampe comme ca ???
Yes I did. Is that ok ?
Excellent job, in every detail. Please let me know how you made the transparent label on the glass bottle. Thank you in advance. Regards fro Anmsterdam, Rein
Thanks very much for those kind words. The label is a water transfer that I made. You can buy A4 sheets of it and just use your printer to make what ever you like. Greetings from AUSTRALIA
@@Austeration Thank you for the information about the water transfer label. I'm still wondering how your image was made. Is it a photo? A scan? A reconstruction? If so, with which software? Photoshop or another program? And finally, the printing. Laser printer? Inkjet? I have many questions, but I am sure you have the answers, which will be very instructive. Many thanks again.
@@amsterdambakeliteI constructed it my self. From memory I think I used Microsoft Exel to get all the spacing correct. The water transfer paper I purchased was specifically for inkjet printers but I gave it a clear coat afterwards for added protection.
Have you done any tumblers ?
Thanks for watching. No I haven't tried those yet, not really my thing sorry.
süper(TÜRKEY)
Thanks very much 😃
I got one last Christmas just put it together. Thank you for the video it helped so much. Could you please consider doing a video on working with the program too.
Thanks Busy Bee. Glad it helped. What program are you using ? I'm using LightBurn they have their own channel that show lots of tips and tricks.
Awesome restoration. Inspired me to restore the same model Can I ask where I can get replacement wicks from or information regarding same
Thanks for watching Steve that's much appreciated. I ended up purchasing the widest oil lantern wick I could find on eBay and cut that to size. It did the job but if your after something more genuine I did find a few sites that offered something more original. Hope that helps.
This machine can be used for laser in “yeti”?
Thanks for watching Alfredo. You could use this but you really need a rotary attachment that turns the Yeti. Not sure if Vevor offer these or not. Check out the link and take a look. Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have another questions 👍
Beautiful job
Thank you Douglas, very much appreciated. Please check out some of my other projects if you have some time 😀
👏👏👏👍
Thank you 👍
👏👏👏👍
Thank you very much 👍
Nice
Thank you Kenneth, much appreciated
These Astors are rare as hell! Even the Diamond Dot Astor radios are mythical in rarity! It's just pure genius of the design of the radio, and it even tells you what state you want to tune in on based on the letter abbreviations.
Thanks RaggedyAtom hope you enjoyed the video 👍
12:48 Your soldering iron needs to be much hotter!
Yes I know thanks 👍 my bigger one broke the day before I filmed this.
Does this vevor 20W have cross hairs for alignment and do you still like this laser , thanks
Hi Jeff this unit is only the 5W version. Yes I still have it and no it does not come with cross hairs. I generally use the framing option with lightburn to map out the alignment. Are you looking at getting one and will it be your first laser ?
@@Austeration No I have the xtool S1 40Wand F1 and wanting an open laser just to engrave on stove top covers , looking for a 20 W to do this
@@jeffbarnes2014 oh cool I also have the S1 and 4 other open lasers none of them have cross hairs like the S1
What software are you using?
Lightburn
It's free for 30 days if you are looking at testing it out.
@Austeration thank you! Have you used lasergrbl? Thats the one I was looking at but not sure which option would be more user friendly as I'm a beginner at this.
@@mikes786 Yes I think I tried that out first but I found Lightburn so much easier to use and had way more options that suited my needs. If you haven't tried it I recommend you do. There are plenty of tutorials that show you lots of tricks on how to use it. Also there are a number of laser groups on Facebook that offer help and free laser cutting files. Another thing you can check out a site called Thingiverse. It has lots of 3d printing projects but if you type in thingiverse and laser cut into search it will come up with hundreds of free laser projects. Check that out for sure 👍👍👍 I wish you luck. Yell out if you need any help. I'm no expert but I'll help if I can.
@Austeration thank you! I really appreciate the info and will for sure look into that! 🙏🏽
Great job, but the only thing I suggest you add that each single step with the materials added into to be mentioned
Thanks for watching glad you enjoyed it
Astor was seemingly a good line of radios. Now deceased.😮
Thanks for watching Alan 👍
Hi there, do you know if there is any power indicator like an LED light or any way to tell that the engraver is on? I plugged everything in and my computer doesnt seem to be able to detect it when I plug the USB in. I used LaserGRBL and even installed the driver on my computer, it said the driver was ready and preinstalled.
I thought there was an LED, the fan should run on the laser head also. Make sure the stop button is not pushed in by twisting it the button should be up and the key on. Try that first
@@Austeration Thanks! I didn't realize you had to twist the stop button to release it!
@@vchiang1 all good 👍 so your all sorted then. Have fun. Don't forget to check out the free 30 day trial of Lightburn
