Hi folks.
Sculpfun have been kind enough to send me one of their latest products to test out and boy have made some improvements.
The New Height setting feature with it's fine adjustment is just brilliant. The fact that you don't have to mess around trying to find the spacer to set the correct height makes life just that little bit easier.
The simple construction makes it so simple for anyone to put together In minutes.
I don't show it In this video but it has a tilt alarm if one end gp raised higher than the other. Personally I didn't understand the need for this but it's there.
I must say I was very impressed with this unit and how it handled some of the projects I have put it through since this video was released.
40w is a lot of power to have.

      Thanks very much. It is used to blow chemicals into your roof or over plants to stop pests. Yes it's very noisy 😅

      It comes in a paint tin, I got it from the paint shop, it smells like paint, it mixes like paint, it has to dry like paint, it cleans up like paint, I used a paint brush to put it on, I had to let it dry like paint, the instructions are the same as paint, the warnings are the same as paint. It's not paint ?

      @Austeration from what I have heard about it, no it had low smell and burnt cleaner in lamps and other paraffin equipment. There was also alladin pink, unfortunately. You can't get either now

      Thanks very much for those kind words. The label is a water transfer that I made. You can buy A4 sheets of it and just use your printer to make what ever you like. Greetings from AUSTRALIA

      @@amsterdambakeliteI constructed it my self. From memory I think I used Microsoft Exel to get all the spacing correct. The water transfer paper I purchased was specifically for inkjet printers but I gave it a clear coat afterwards for added protection.

      Thanks for watching Steve that's much appreciated. I ended up purchasing the widest oil lantern wick I could find on eBay and cut that to size. It did the job but if your after something more genuine I did find a few sites that offered something more original. Hope that helps.

    These Astors are rare as hell! Even the Diamond Dot Astor radios are mythical in rarity! It's just pure genius of the design of the radio, and it even tells you what state you want to tune in on based on the letter abbreviations.

      Hi Jeff this unit is only the 5W version. Yes I still have it and no it does not come with cross hairs. I generally use the framing option with lightburn to map out the alignment. Are you looking at getting one and will it be your first laser ?

      @@mikes786 Yes I think I tried that out first but I found Lightburn so much easier to use and had way more options that suited my needs. If you haven't tried it I recommend you do. There are plenty of tutorials that show you lots of tricks on how to use it. Also there are a number of laser groups on Facebook that offer help and free laser cutting files. Another thing you can check out a site called Thingiverse. It has lots of 3d printing projects but if you type in thingiverse and laser cut into search it will come up with hundreds of free laser projects. Check that out for sure 👍👍👍 I wish you luck. Yell out if you need any help. I'm no expert but I'll help if I can.

    Hi there, do you know if there is any power indicator like an LED light or any way to tell that the engraver is on? I plugged everything in and my computer doesnt seem to be able to detect it when I plug the USB in. I used LaserGRBL and even installed the driver on my computer, it said the driver was ready and preinstalled.

      I thought there was an LED, the fan should run on the laser head also. Make sure the stop button is not pushed in by twisting it the button should be up and the key on. Try that first
